In September 2017 St.Peter’s boldly launched a new character based curriculum called “VIP” (Values in Practice). The programme is currently being rolled out with all year groups receiving 1 hour per fortnight by 2021/2022. Since this decision was made new statutory requirements have been put in place for RSE and Health Education which must be delivered from September 2020.

The VIP curriculum meets the needs of St.Peter’s students, delivers all statutory PSHE and most importantly of all, does so through the lens of our Christian ethos. The religious background of pupils has been taken into account when planning teaching and topics are appropriately handled.

The programme will develop during 2019, 2020 & 2021 as we transition to this new method of delivery. This will present a number of challenges which this document starts to address. As the programme of study develops and grows it will continue to be developed around the St.Peter’s Character Compass.
