8th January 2018
Week beginning 8th January
Happy New Year! I hope and pray that you had a good break. The theme for this half term is WISDOM and to support this, our assembly series is called “Wisdumb”:
Over the next 4 weeks we will look at one of the habits within the Wisdom section of the Character Compass. During this coming week we will be thinking about MAKING LINKS.
Our Character Compass definition is as follows:
MAKING LINKS – Identifying patterns in anything you are studying, asking questions like “What do I already know?” What do I need to know? Where have I seen something similar before?” Staying alert and curious to any information that might help to answer these questions.
Key Stage Assemblies will be taken by John Allan and Mr Randall where they will unpack the habit and also think about 1 Samuel 3.
The QT to support our thinking can be found here:
This QT focusses on a young man called Austin Naber who is a world-record holder in cup stacking. He practices 3-4 hours every day. However, how did he become so good and is it possible for us to do something similar?
Father please give each of us the strength and energy to practise and not give up. Please sustain us when we feel like quitting and help us to realise our God-given potential. Help us to make the most of our education and the opportunities we have. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen
