Parents of new Year 7’s
Dear parents of our new Year 7’s,
Thank you to all who attended our welcome and induction evening on the 4th July, it was a hugely positive turn out and there was a very enthusiastic atmosphere throughout, which I’m sure we can carry into next academic year.
I hope also that your children came home excited and at ease about starting with us in September, especially after their full day at St Peter’s on the 6th July. The entire cohort were an absolute credit to themselves on that day, behaving immaculately and approaching the day with motivation and maturity.
I’m sure they and you are now looking forward to a long and restful summer, which is why I wanted to share the attached/linked document that has been put together with EH4MH (Early Help for Mental Health), to encourage some of the good habits that we will be looking to build upon when students return to school in September. There isn’t anything out of the ordinary in there just some simple ways to make the most of the time off we have. This could also build into part of our “Year 6 – Challenge yourself over the summer”
EH4MH is a service provided through Devon County Council alongside three partner agencies in Virgin Care, Young Devon and Kooth who are working in schools and the community to improve access to health support. St Peter’s will be working with the service throughout next year and for our new intake we’re using their ideas about ‘Normal Magic’ to start the ball rolling in developing good habits early in our students to support every aspect of their development.
Enjoy your summers!
