St Peter’s Book Day – Thursday March 8th

7 March 2018

St Peter’s Book Day – Thursday March 8th

Due to the snow day last Thursday we had to postpone all of our activities for World Book Day.  However we are having our own           St Peter’s Book Day, this Thursday 8th March.

We have already received many entries for our dress up a potato, as a book character competition. The finished work will be displayed in the Library and the winning potato dresser will receive a prize.

Also on St Peter’s Book Day, we have exciting events taking place in the Library: The Big Draw, Shakespeare Bunting, free bookmarks and a large selection of NEW library books from Babcock School Library Service to borrow.

This year, for the first time, the Library has invited in Winstone Books, an independent bookshop from Sidmouth, to help celebrate us celebrate by setting up a Pop-Up Shop in the Library during Thursday lunchtime and Lesson 5.  Students will be given their World Book Day vouchers in tutor time on Thursday and can visit the Library at lunch time and swap the voucher for a free book.  Alternatively, students can pay an additional £2.50 and receive a full novel.  Winstone Books will also have a selection of other titles that the students can buy and get £1.00 discount, using their World Book Day Voucher. So don’t forget your pocket money on Thursday!

DEAR – Drop Everything And Read will be happening during lesson 5, as well as other competitions in English lessons.
