This is a very important time in your child’s education when preparations are being made about the subjects and qualifications that they will study in year 9, 10 and 11. We want to ensure that all students are given the best advice and guidance about the curriculum choices they make and this process begins with the Year 8 Subject Consultation Evening.
In September 2017, students will begin courses that lead directly to GCSE and other qualifications at the end of Year 11. Several subjects remain compulsory while others are chosen from a system of options. Students will study fewer subjects but in greater depth. Inevitably they will have to decide which subjects they wish to continue and which they will drop. We want to ensure that all students are given the best advice and guidance about the curriculum choices.
