Hay Festival Digital

22 May 2020

I’m excited to announce that Hay literature festival can be accessed online this year and it has a brilliant line up of talks with a range of renowned authors.  Hay Festival Digital #Imaginetheworld is free to view online, just follow the link https://www.hayfestival.com/home to access the website. Once on the website, you will notice that there is a main programme which allows you to see which digital events are happening over the next week and when. There is also a programme for schools created especially for students learning at home, aimed at inspiring creative reading.

Listening to authors discussing writing is a marvellous way to encourage engagement with reading and to help advance our own writing ability, so I would thoroughly recommend students trying to access some of the festival. There is a huge range of different topics covered so everyone should be able to find something that interests them. If students are unable to view the talks at the time they are scheduled then there is an option to listen to them at a later time when it is more convenient. However, if you are able to watch it at the time then many events offer the opportunity for Q&A with the author, so there is an opportunity for students to have their questions answered by a professional writer.
