Partial Closure: With effect from 19th March 2020
Dear Parents and Carers
Details of a Partial Closure: With effect from 19th March 2020
It is with great regret that due to a very high number of staff absences we are unable to be open for lessons with Year Groups 8, 9 and 10. We will continue to be fully open to all students in Years 7 and 11. We have made this difficult decision in order to prioritise those students with upcoming examinations and to try to reduce the need for parents to take time away from work for childcare for our youngest students in Year 7.
The decision has not been made lightly and is a very last resort following seeking a range of possible solutions that would ensure both the safety of students and high-quality learning. This is due to the unprecedented and evolving Covid-19 situation.
Timetabled lessons will continue as close to normal for Years 7 and 11, although may not always be staffed by their usual teacher. Students from Year Groups 8, 9 and 10 who are in receipt of free school meals are able to collect a packed lunch from the main reception between 1.15 and 1.45pm. If you would like to use this service please email firstname.lastname@example.org by no later than 10.30am on the morning of the 19th March 2020.
We have received no indication at this time, that examinations will be moved or cancelled so we will endeavour to keep the School open as long as possible to provide support for our Year 11 students. For those students who we are not able to cater for on site you will shortly be receiving a communication from us with regard to on-line working that staff have prepared for you.
Trips and Visits
We can confirm all activities, including trips and visits will not go ahead during this period. Details re cancellation or postponement for all trips will be provided when School reopens. Please do not make any further payments at this time related to these, Learning Enrichment Week or Year 10 Residentials.
We will continue to be in contact using the usual forms of communication via the school website, school comms and social media.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
