Exeter College Adviser
Dear Parents / Guardians,
My name is Emily Skinner and I am a College Adviser at Exeter College and the main contact for St Peter’s C of E School. My role in school is to help students with their preparations for joining Exeter College after their GCSEs. Students will see me in school during assemblies, in one to one information, advice and guidance appointments, and I will also be available during parents’ evenings. Each student has received a personal copy of the new School Leavers’ Course Guide 2019/20 following my first assembly of the year, however if they missed out on this opportunity, they can obtain one from the school. More detailed course information is available on our website: www.exe-coll.ac.uk. Students can request an appointment with me on a Wednesday in school by speaking to the Head of Careers and Guidance, Mrs Falconer, or by emailing me direct. I am available to discuss any queries regarding the courses on offer, entry requirements, application and interview processes, travel, our academies, as well as student life and apprenticeships.
Exeter College will be holding several Open Events throughout Year 11. These events are a great opportunity to learn what Exeter College has to offer by seeing our excellent facilities, talking to our subject lecturers and joining in activities and demonstrations. I would certainly encourage all students considering studying at Exeter College to visit at least 1 college Open Event throughout the year. These Open Events are being held at our city centre sites, as well as the Technology Centre and Construction building, on the following dates:
- Thursday 18th October 2018, 5-8pm
- Wednesday 21st November 2018, 5-8pm
- Wednesday 16th January 2019, 5-8pm
Please check the Exeter College website for further details about our open events; the programme for each event is usually available on the website around two weeks before each date.
Interviews are held on a monthly basis at Exeter College from November onwards. Although the application process will remain open throughout the year, we recommend that students submit their application as early as possible (by the end of January 2019) to then allow them to focus fully on their exams. Students can apply online through the Exeter College website from now onwards, or obtain a paper copy of the form from the school.
I look forward to meeting many of you throughout the year. Please do not hesitate to contact me using the details below should you have any questions regarding Exeter College.
