7 October 2019

Week beginning 7th October

Only 2 weeks to half term!!! We continue to see progress in terms of the character development of our young people. This week a number of people have commented on the reduction of litter around the site. Whilst we still have a way to go, there has been encouraging signs over the past month particularly from our new Year 7’s!

This week Stephen Seki will be in to take Key Stage Assemblies. Stephen visited us last year and was warmly received by our students. His bio reads as follows:

Stephen is an incredibly passionate and engaging speaker with a powerful message. Going against the odds to become a pharmacist, Stephen is now committed to serving as many as possible – supporting and facilitating transformation through challenge by sharing both his story of transitioning from life in a Ugandan village to the UK – along with the strategies that helped him get where he is today!

In the QT for this week we look at a short animated film where a lighthouse keeper gets in a spot of bother. With time running out and trouble on the horizon he is helped by a large group of people. Some of the problems we face in (and out) of school require a large number of people to solve them. What are some of these issues? And having identified them, what can we do to bring about change?

Heavenly Father, there are many challenges in this world that we cannot solve alone. Please help each of us to look not only to our own interests but to look out for the interests of others too. Amen

God bless and have a great week!
