In years 7 and 8 the students are introduced to concepts of ICT, computing and basic programming skills. Students are introduced to GCSE content to ensure a deeper understanding of the subject which will help with choosing options in year 8. The lessons are a mix of theory and practical which mirror some of the basic topics and knowledge needed for the GCSE Computer Science and BTEC Digital IT courses that are studied from year 9 to year 11.

The students are motivated and enjoy the range of project based topics that they study. The emphasis on independent learning and students being fully aware of their progress has ensured motivation is a priority.
