15 December 2019

Week beginning 16th December

1 week to go!!! Well done for getting to this point! It has been a real privilege working with our young people this term and we look forward to seeing them again in the New Year.

On Monday & Tuesday there will be no Key Stage assemblies due to the Carol Service (Please note – you are all welcome to attend – 7pm at Exeter Cathedral – Monday 16th December). On Thursday, Shaun Hornsby from Rediscover Church will be in to lead us as we think about Christmas.

Friday 20th December will be a non-school uniform day with an extra special encouragement to get your Christmas jumpers out! There is a suggested minimum donation of £1 and money raised will be split between Save the Children and some of the other charities that we as a school support.

Later this week we will be closing our St.Petrock’s appeal collections. It has been really encouraging to see so many socks and other bits come in – thank you so much! We will take all the donations down towards the end of the week. Here’s a quick reminder of items that will help some of the most vulnerable in our city this Christmas…

The final QT for the year focuses on joy. As we look ahead to the Christmas period, what is joy and what makes you joyful? Is joy the same as happiness or is it something deeper? And is it possible to bring joy to others?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, please help us to be people who don’t compare ourselves with others. Help us to be joyful people who bring joy to others both in and out of school. Amen

God bless and have a great final week!
