Week beginning 9th December

2 weeks to go! Well done for getting to this point in the term! One final push and we’ll make it to Christmas! Thank you for all your support during this half term.

On Monday & Tuesday we will be having our half-termly Celebration of Achievement assemblies for Years 7-10. On Thursday & Friday, John Allan will be in to help us think more about Christmas through the eyes of some of the adverts that we see on the television during this season.

The QT for this week builds on some of the work that we have done in previous sessions and will launch our Christmas appeal to help some of the homeless community in Exeter. During the QT session a few weeks ago, students were introduced to Orange Sky Laundry (quick reminder here – http://www.qtforschools.co.uk/2019/11/08/qt-ideas-to-help-the-most-vulnerable/). A couple of our tutor groups were moved by what they saw and have come up with an idea to help people in our area. Over the past few weeks discussions have taken place with St.Petrock’s and we are looking to launch our “Christmas Socks Appeal” this week.

The QT this week will help students see how a lack of clean socks can cause huge problem for homeless people and we have an opportunity to make a small difference in our city.

We have teamed up with St.Petrock’s to try and bring a little hope and joy this Christmas. It is often difficult to know how to help homeless people however we plan to fill socks with small gifts which St.Petrock’s will give them to those most in need in the city and beyond.

Challenge – Can you support this by bringing in a pair of clean socks or anything off the list below?

It’ll be great if we can help some of the most vulnerable on our doorstep this Christmas.

Heavenly Father, help us to be a community that supports the most vulnerable and makes a real difference in this world. Amen

God bless and have a great week!
