Week beginning 9th March
The 40acts challenge continues this week and 3 people have already secured their £50 for charity! Huge congratulations to Lucy Beane (UNICEF), Chloe Peplow (WaterAid) and Daisy Hunt (Medic Malawi)! We will concluding the challenge at Easter but hopefully by then all £6000 will be accounted for and cheques will be flying all around the world to support a whole host of charities.
During this coming week we will be focussing on – Self-control – Words – ready to speak kind words
Was there ever a less true saying than ‘sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never harm me’? How about these words? You’re fired. I want to split up. You are ugly. I hate you. Words can cause immeasurable harm; conversely, they can be an unstoppable force for good. This week we are exploring the impact of what we say.
The QT for the coming week introduces our students to William H. McRaven. William is a retired United States Navy Four-Star admiral. He made a famous speech to graduates at the University of Texas in 2014. Strangely… he begins by encouraging people to make their bed?!Is he mad or onto something???

Heavenly Father, thank you for the opportunity to have a positive impact on this world. Help us to do the small things right each day that make a difference so that we can do the big things right in the days and years to come. Amen
Ps Next Friday is Sports Relief! We will be having a non-school uniform day however as it’s Sports Relief it’ll have to be something sporty!!!! More details to follow…
