Dear Students, Parents and Carers

St. Peter’s Students – Outstanding Resilience and Hard Work

I’m sure that we all recognise that exam results represent a small part of who we all are. At St. Peter’s we believe that how we develop our character and learn to make the world a better place through being wise, courageous and compassionate in ways that make our communities better is much more important. Students do deserve to be celebrated for their efforts with exams too though. Here are some of the headlines for another year of excellent results.

The class of 2025 have continued St. Peter’s long-standing tradition of high performance. The excellent standards have been achieved for these students who had some of their formative primary schools years disrupted by Covid-19, making the students’ achievements all the more extraordinary.

  • Initial analysis indicates that at least 81% achieved high grades of 9-4 in both English and Maths and 61% achieved grades 9-5 in both English and Maths.
  • 21% of students achieved 5 or more of the top 9-7 grades. Significant successes achieving these 9-7 grades were 70% in French, 50% in Spanish, 46% in Music, 44% in Computer Science, 42% in Cambridge Nationals, 37% in Fine Art, 31% in Maths and 30% in Photography.
  • 9-4 grades were achieved by 100% of Spanish and French students along with 97% in Drama and Music, 96% in Computer Science, Fine Art and Graphic Design, 93% in 3D Design and 92% in Photography. The majority of subjects achieved at least 70% in this measure.
  • Exceptional progress has been made by many students. Amongst those making the most notable progress are: Edward, Jonathan, Faye, Jessica, Aidan, Josephine, Huw, Ben, Alice and Lily.
  • Some of the other stories of success are:

Freya attaining ten grade 9’s and an A in FSMQ Jack with nine grade 9’s and two grade 8’s

Joeseph, Abigail, Benjamin, Rachel and Maisie all achieving seven grade 9’s and two grade 8’s.

Phil Randall, Headteacher said:

“These results are down to the students dedication and working closely with our incredible teams of highly committed and skilful staff.

Students have shown outstanding resilience and hard work. They have coped more than admirably with the uncertainty and anxieties, not only of exams but of all that Covid-19 has thrown at them at Primary School and for their transition to Secondary School.

At St. Peter’s we have kept our vision and ethos at the heart of our approaches and it is wonderful to see students take their next steps onto college and sixth form courses, apprenticeships and employment.

The students of 2025 are a terrific bunch of characters who I have no doubt will use their experiences for the greater good and continue to make the world a better place.

Parents and carers also deserve a huge thank you - they too have shown great flexibility and resilience, encouraging their children. I trust they will be delighted and possibly relieved at today’s excellent outcomes.”

The Venerable Andrew Beane, Chair of Governors writes:

"St Peter's exam results reflect the hard work, dedication and commitment of students, teachers and the wider school community. Our wonderful Year 11s have overcome the most challenging of times yet have still shown that they are reaching their full potential. We hope and pray for them all as they move onto the next stage of their education knowing that they are so much more than just their grades and we are thankful for their contribution to the life of St Peter's in so many different ways. May they continue to shine brightly."
