The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an internationally recognised award which enables young people to gain a huge range of skills and experiences. At St. Peter’s we offer the Bronze award to all of year 9 and the Silver to year 10. (We sometimes need to limit the number of places available in order to comply with safety regulations). The award takes approximately 6 months to complete. It is made up of 4 sections, Physical, Skills, Volunteering and Expedition. The Expedition usually takes place in the summer term. We ask that participants complete 2 of their sections to be able to participate in the Expedition. Through the award, participants learn resilience, independence, team skills, navigation skills, resourcefulness, patience, tolerance and much more!

We are always looking for volunteers to support our D of E participants. If you have time to spare and have any type of walking group leader qualifications, we would love to hear from you.
