I’m so proud and impressed by the way the Year 7 students have handled the difficult subject of refugees in our lessons. They have shown great compassion, insight and empathy when thinking about the terrifying journeys many refuges make, and have expressed their hope for a safer and fairer world.
Here are some examples of their work:
‘Refugees are currently in danger, but they have the strength to push through. Refugees try to find safety. All the kids and parents need is hope, courage, love and support.’ Zara R Y7
‘Refugees are people who are in danger. They want safety, courage, hope and lots of support. They can feel fear and lots of stress in themselves.’
Olivia F Y7
‘Refugees are in danger. They put themselves at risk to escape their country on crowded boats. They show strength, courage and determination. They hope that life will be better in another country.’ Willow R Y7
