Ten Tors 2026 St Peter’s Teams Rise to the Challenge on Dartmoor

Another memorable Ten Tors weekend for St Peter’s saw all three teams successfully complete their respective challenges across Dartmoor in excellent conditions. It was a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of the determination, resilience, and teamwork shown by every student involved.

After months of demanding training over Dartmoor’s rugged terrain, St Peter’s proudly entered one 45-mile team and two 35-mile teams into this year’s event:

Team TA – 45 Miles
Emily, Esther, Elliot, Alfie, Tom, and Ethan

Team JB – 35 Miles
Ethan, Ollie, Jess, Ella, Sam, and Callum

Team DA – 35 Miles
James, Ezra, Oscar, Michael, Eunice, and Beth

A special thanks to the more than capable Ten Tors challengers Noah and Abby who supported the teams in the wings.

The weekend brought near-perfect weather for the challenge. Conditions across the moor were bright and clear with a welcome breeze throughout the day, not too hot and not too cold, allowing teams to make strong progress across their routes. All three teams pushed hard through their Saturday objectives around Postbridge, making the most of every hour available to them.

Our two 35-mile teams worked exceptionally hard throughout the weekend and crossed the finish line within forty minutes of each other. Their commitment, resilience, and teamwork were evident from start to finish, with each member supporting one another across every mile of the route. Their efforts truly cemented their place as successful Ten Tors finishers.

The 45-mile team faced their own unique challenges along the way, including a memorable encounter with one of Dartmoor’s infamous bogs and even camping close beside it overnight. Despite the obstacles, the team showed incredible perseverance and determination, battling through to complete the challenge right down to the wire. Their achievement was thoroughly deserved and a testament to their grit and character.

This year’s success was built upon months of training in all conditions. Long days on the moor, difficult navigation exercises, heavy packs, and wet weekends all helped forge the confidence and cohesion that defined this year’s cohort. Every team displayed the very best qualities of Ten Tors: resilience, leadership, teamwork, and unwavering determination.

As always, the atmosphere at the finish line was unforgettable. Proud families, friends, and supporters gathered to cheer the teams home as they marched through the final stretch with tired legs but huge smiles. The emotion and sense of achievement made for another special chapter in St Peter’s Ten Tors history.

A huge thank you goes to the staff, volunteers, supporters, St Peter’s School & The Hele’s Educational Trust for making this opportunity possible each year. Their continued support behind the scenes allows students to experience one of the country’s most iconic outdoor challenges.

Most importantly, congratulations to every student who took part. You have shown commitment, resilience, and exceptional teamwork throughout the entire journey. Completing Ten Tors is an achievement you will remember for life, and you should all be incredibly proud.

Well done, Team St Peter’s,
Ten Tors 2026 was yours.
